Fused glass jewelry
I am a linguist and an academic, so making fused glass jewelry is just my hobby (and passion), which I have stumbled on recently. (Until March 2017 I didn't even know I was interested in fusing: I had a pair of fused glass ear rings which I loved, but I never even wondered how it was made.)
I design and cut and fuse the glass -- for pendants, ear rings, and rings --myself. No two pieces are exactly the same. I love the colors and texture of glass, I love the endless possibilities of combining different sizes, shapes, and colors, and I love how I can be creative doing it all (what a wonderful flow experience! :-)) . I also like to photograph the jewelry I make (cf. applied photography): I choose interesting and/or funny little props for the photos (basically, things I find around the house that take my fancy...).

Making fused glass jewelry is fun, and these days it can be learned (like so many other things) completely from information available on the internet. English speakers are at an advantage: most of the info is in English, there is almost nothing I could find in Hungarian... Luckily, you can find all the tools and materials (glass, glues, bails etc.) in regular shops and web shops these days...
I learned everything I know from watching youtube tutorials and reading blogs. (The inspiration and encouragement for this came from my children: my son learned to ride a unicycle entirely from info he found on the internet...) These are the sources I found most useful:
